About

Tyler Watt is a Registered Nurse who was born and raised in Nepean and has seen how much our incredible community has changed over the last few decades.

Tyler grew up in Barrhaven with his parents, Randy and Debbie, and his younger brother, Brandon. His father is a small business owner, and his mother is a Registered Nurse.

Tyler was the most recent Ontario Liberal party candidate for Nepean in the 2022 provincial election and had the most successful showing ever by an Ontario Liberal candidate in this riding.

Tyler became involved in politics while he was studying as a student nurse. He saw the harmful decisions that the Ford government was making, which affected him, his patients, and our communities. Tyler began speaking out about the callous actions of Ontario's new government and joined the fight alongside advocacy groups such as nurses, education workers, and the Ontario Autism Coalition.

During his third year in nursing school, Tyler became the parliamentary assistant to MPP Mitzie Hunter at Queen's Park. He learned how the legislature works and how much potential there is to positively impact Ontarians. This was when Tyler knew he had to do more.

Tyler understands and is experiencing the struggles that our community is facing today. During the last election, he spoke with thousands of neighbours, who call Nepean home, about the issues that matter most to them. Homeownership is an unreachable dream for many. There is a 5-year wait list to get a family doctor in Nepean. Emergency room wait times are at an all-time high. Many of us do not have access to our basic needs for a fulfilling quality of life - and that needs to change. People in Nepean want to know that they have someone fighting for them.

Tyler believes that being an elected official in this province should be a responsibility that should not taken lightly. He knows it is a privilege to be a representative of this community, and Tyler would use his voice, compassion, and resources as an MPP to improve the lives of every person in Nepean.

We came so close in 2022 to electing a strong and new voice for Nepean at Queen's Park. Tyler is ready and fighting to take us over the finish line in 2026.
